Roof Soft Wash
Black streaks and moss removed at low pressure.
What it is
How we handle it.
The black streaks on Connecticut roofs are a living algae that feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles. We apply a cleaning solution at low pressure that kills the growth at the root, then rinse. No pressure washer touches the shingles, so the protective granules stay where they belong.
- Pre-wet and protect plants, siding and hardscape
- Low-pressure application to every affected slope
- Moss and lichen treated along with the algae
- Rinse of gutters, trim and surrounding surfaces
Thin algae streaks usually clear the same day. Thick moss is killed on the first visit and releases over the following weeks as it weathers.
